Our Vision
This is only the beginning.
God Culture officially began gathering publicly in Cape Town in February 2026, but the vision began many years before that.
God placed a desire in Vogue’s heart to build something where people could genuinely encounter Jesus, understand His Word and experience the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.
That desire was shaped by the spiritual foundation she grew up with. Many years ago, her parents, Pastor Martin and Sandy Phelps, left South Africa to start a church in the United Kingdom. Vogue grew up surrounded by ministry, learning through her dad’s preaching, wisdom, experience and faithful example.
After Vogue moved to Cape Town, God began bringing the right people together. God Culture started simply through prayer, worship, gatherings in homes and a willingness to make room for whatever God wanted to do.
We believe a powerful move of God is coming, and we want to be ready for it.
We believe God wants to reach people others never imagined could be reached. We believe He can turn the hearts of kings and leaders towards Him, transform cities and awaken a generation that is passionate about Jesus.
We want to see young people grounded in Scripture, bold in prayer, unashamed of the Gospel and excited to live fully for God.
We dream of homes filled with prayer, lives transformed, cities impacted and stadiums filled with people worshipping Jesus.
God Culture is beginning in Cape Town, but the vision reaches far beyond one church, one building or one city.
Everything we are building belongs to Jesus.

Mission
To cultivate a culture that reflects the heart of God by helping people encounter Jesus, understand His Word, discover who they are in Christ and live for His glory.
Vision
To see people saved, healed, restored and filled with the Holy Spirit. To raise a bold generation that knows the Word, lives for Jesus and carries His presence into homes, workplaces, communities, cities and nations.

The people leading God Culture
God has brought together people with different gifts, experience and callings to help lead, pray for and protect what He is doing through God Culture.
Vogue Phelps
God placed the vision for God Culture in Vogue’s heart many years ago.
She leads the church, communicates the vision, teaches the Word and oversees the ministry as it grows. Her heart is to remain obedient to God, share His Word simply and help raise a generation that is passionate, bold and unashamed of Jesus.
She believes God Culture is the beginning of something God wants to use to reach people, transform lives and impact cities and nations.

Pastor Martin Phelps
Pastor Martin brings decades of ministry experience, biblical understanding and pastoral wisdom to God Culture.
After leaving South Africa with his family to start and lead a church in the United Kingdom, he dedicated many years to preaching the Gospel, teaching Scripture and serving people.
He continues to preach, teach, advise and help protect the spiritual integrity of God Culture. Much of Vogue’s understanding of ministry, the Word and the local church has come through everything she has learned from her dad.

Talitha is Vogue’s Godmother and forms part of the core ministry leadership of God Culture.
She carries a powerful calling for intercessory prayer and has a deep sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Her prayer, discernment, wisdom and spiritual support form an important part of the foundation of the church.
As God Culture grows, prayer must remain beneath everything we build.

Pietie stands alongside Vogue in life and supports the calling God has placed on her.
He serves people, encourages the church and helps build the wider vision of God Culture. He is passionate about coffee, people, conversation and creating spaces where genuine community can grow.
His leadership will develop particularly through the future God Culture Hub, bringing together coffee, workspace, creativity, content, conversation, faith and community throughout the week.

Tayler is Vogue’s brother and has been part of her journey with God from the very beginning. Growing up together, they shared a close relationship and spent much of their lives serving God alongside one another.
Although he is currently based in the UK, he remains deeply connected to the heart and future of God Culture. With many years of worship and ministry experience, he will be travelling to Cape Town more regularly to help lead worship, develop the band and strengthen the worship ministry as the church grows.
